In a world striving toward equity, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) continue to face barriers in employment. At Trinet Technologies, we believe the future of work must be accessible to all—regardless of physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges. In partnership with AblePath Foundation, we are leading a purposeful hiring initiative focused on inclusivity, assistive technology, and workplace accommodation.
Globally, up to 80% of PwDs remain unemployed in developing countries. Our commitment is to not just open the door—but redesign it entirely—to ensure equitable access, hiring support, and dignified career growth.
Hiring Built on Skills and Understanding
Our approach to hiring PwDs is based on two critical pillars: Job Role Compatibility and Workplace Accessibility. Every role is analyzed against the nature of disability to ensure alignment with the candidate’s capabilities.
Whether it’s a role requiring minimal mobility or one demanding visual clarity, we leverage assistive technology, ergonomic adaptations, and personalized adjustments. For example, in our recent onboarding cohort with AblePath Foundation, 40% of candidates hired for customer success roles were persons with hearing or speech impairments, empowered through captioning tools and visual collaboration platforms.
We evaluate and support candidates across the spectrum:
- Locomotor Disabilities with accessible infrastructure and mobility aids.
- Visual Impairments using screen readers, Braille signage, and enhanced lighting.
- Hearing or Speech Impairments through text-first communication and sign language assistance.
Enabling Accessible Workspaces for All
Hiring inclusively is only the beginning. Our campuses and digital workspaces are being redesigned to offer universal access. From ramp-equipped offices to adaptive seating and auditory-friendly environments, every detail matters.
Some of the workplace solutions implemented in 2024 include:
- Screen reader–enabled systems for visually impaired coders
- Braille-embedded floor maps and room markers
- Noise-canceling headsets and live captions in team meetings
- Ergonomic workstations adjustable for wheelchair users
We also offer flexible scheduling, rest breaks, and hybrid models for those who need additional accommodations to thrive professionally.
“At Trinet, we do not hire out of sympathy—we hire for skills, ambition, and impact. Every person deserves the right tools and support to thrive, and we are proud to build careers that reflect the full spectrum of human ability.”
Policies That Go Beyond Compliance
Trinet Technologies aligns with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (India) and adheres to global best practices on equitable hiring. But we do not stop at compliance. Our policy framework actively promotes awareness, empathy, and skill-based hiring through ongoing training of interviewers, team leads, and HR managers.
We conduct regular workshops on:
- Unconscious bias and disability etiquette
- Inclusive interview techniques
- Workplace interoperability with assistive tech
- Personalized onboarding for PwDs
Our DEI Task Force works closely with department heads to ensure job descriptions, hiring KPIs, and growth pathways are inclusive by design.
